EXPRESS /// “The BBC outlined a major clampdown on the use of social media for all its employees. All those working for the taxpayer-funded service will be told not to “express a personal opinion on matters of public policy, politics, or controversial subjects”.”
#NewsLinks: It’s been a while since the employees at the BBC were asked not to post personal opinions on politics and any other controversial matters.
The likes of Huw Edwards in the above tweet may choose to mock the new guidelines. However, those reporters in high paid taxpayers funded jobs that have brought the broadcaster into disrepute, If you’re supposed to give unbiased news, then it’s logical to not go on social media after to express your political views.
This is a first step in cracking down on the bias being broadcast from the BBC, but there’s still a massive amount to do if the BBC are to regain any form of trust from the British people.
